Discover the campus and the Bay Area

Make time to explore the campus. Take a different route to class sometimes, and walk through buildings where you don't have classes. Visit each library on campus, and the Berkeley Public Library. Search for the best place to study (besides your room). Find what you consider to be the best tree, monument, or drinking fountain. You're a Cal Bear; make this place your own!

Learn Cal's rich history.

This school has been around for over a century. Learn something about the history of UC Berkeley to wow your friends and family.

Explore the performing arts, museums, and gardens.

Who doesn't love art and flowers? Berkeley has all of these; check out Cal Performances, Noon Concerts, the Berkeley Art Museum (BAM), and the Botanical Gardens. Take some time to stop and smell the roses!

Get to know the City of Berkeley.

The Cal campus spills into an eclectic city. Make your way to Telegraph, College, and Shattuck Avenues to explore convenient local shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Visit San Francisco.

A visit to San Francisco, aka "The City," is a must-do trip. Take BART or use your Class Pass on the bus. Go to a Giants baseball game, catch a movie at the Metreon, picnic in Golden Gate Park, visit the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), or play with science at the Exploratorium.
